We are seeking a commercially driven Sales and Business Development professional to support the promotion and growth of our sustainability consulting services and sustainable packaging solutions. The role combines sales account management, business development, and supporting marketing strategy with a strong focus on environmentally responsible solutions for SMEs, retail, and chain-store clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting sustainability-led services, developing new business opportunities, and supporting the commercialisation of technology-driven solutions aimed at reducing environmental footprint and optimising energy consumption. The role will contribute to our broader mission of enabling clients to advance sustainable development, meet regulatory obligations, strengthen ESG reporting, design products for resource efficiency and circularity, align with the UK’s Net Zero trajectory, and deliver measurable sustainability improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities with SMEs, retail chains, and B2B clients.
- Promote and sell sustainable packaging solutions and sustainability consulting services, including Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) and life cycle assessment (LCA) support.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and retail decision-makers.
- Prepare and deliver commercial proposals, product presentations, and solution demonstrations aligned with client’s sustainability and Net Zero goals.
- Support account management activities, ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and growth.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends in sustainability, packaging, and retail technology.
Additional responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote sustainability services, digital solutions, and environmentally friendly products.
- Use data and system outputs to create marketing content, case studies, and value propositions.
- Support brand positioning and go-to-market initiatives focused on sustainability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with technical and product teams to align customer needs with product development and commercial objectives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience (5+ years) in Sales and Business Development.
- Proven experience in sales, business development, marketing, or commercial roles.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales, account management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of sustainability, LCA, environmental performance, and sustainable packaging.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience in tailored-software solutions and SaaS/web platform integration would be an advantage.
- Ability to communicate technical and sustainability concepts in a clear, commercial manner.
- Experience working with SMEs, retail, or multi-site businesses preferred.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Experience in the tech industry is a plus.
