This role involves working on major heavy mobile mining equipment in a workshop-based environment, supporting large-scale rebuild and maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete drill rig rebuilds and major component overhauls
  • Carry out haul truck rebuilds (CAT 789 and similar class trucks)
  • Work on a range of CAT mobile mining equipment
  • Diagnose, repair, and rebuild mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
  • Perform component change-outs and general heavy equipment maintenance
  • Work safely and efficiently to meet project deadlines

Equipment Experience (Highly Regarded)

  • CAT haul trucks (including 789 class)
  • Drill rigs (including D65 experience highly desirable)
  • General CAT mining fleet and heavy mobile plant

Requirements

  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification (Heavy Diesel preferred; Heavy Road Transport accepted with strong mining/heavy equipment experience)
  • Must have previous heavy mobile plant or mining equipment experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a rebuild team
  • Must have full working rights in Australia
  • Ability to arrange own transport to site (no driver's licence required)

Additional Requirements

  • PEM, Spiro, Audio, MuscFit & DAS (or willingness to obtain if required)
  • Must provide own basic hand tools

Working Conditions

  • Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm minimum (often 6:00am - 5:00pm)
  • Potential weekend work as required
  • Workshop-based environment

Pay & Conditions

  • $68.75 per hour (casual rate)
  • Immediate start available
  • Temp to perm

PPE

  • High-vis shirts required
  • Work pants (jeans or standard work pants acceptable – no reflective strip required)
  • Steel cap or composite safety boots
