Are you a Windows Engineer with strong Citrix and VMware experience, ready to step into a high-impact infrastructure role? Our client - a global investment firm running multi-asset strategies with a growing presence in London - is expanding their EUC team as part of continued headcount growth. You’ll take ownership of 3rd and 4th line support across Windows desktop, Citrix VDI, Azure, and Active Directory environments, collaborating with senior engineers across EMEA and the US. This is a broad, hands-on role where you’ll lead on escalated issues, shape support best practices, and gain deeper exposure to enterprise infrastructure tooling, scripting, and cloud integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced (3rd/4th line) technical support for the firm’s global Windows and Citrix environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across Windows 10/11, Server 2019, and Active Directory
- Support and optimise Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (VDI) and user session performance
- Maintain and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) across multiple domains
- Assist with VMware environment support and infrastructure administration
- Work with Microsoft Azure platforms including Entra ID, IAM, PIM, and Storage
- Use PowerShell to script and automate infrastructure management and task execution
- Coordinate with global teams on change control, maintenance, and issue escalation
- Participate in DR testing, patching cycles, and occasional out-of-hours support as needed
What You Bring...
- 3-5 years of experience in a Windows infrastructure or support-focused engineering role
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows 10/11, Server 2019, Active Directory, and GPOs
- Proven experience supporting Citrix VDI platforms (Citrix Cloud and/or on-prem)
- Familiarity with VMware virtualisation tools and environments
- Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Azure, particularly IAM and Entra ID services
- Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and troubleshooting
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently within a global team
- Familiarity with Azure SSO, conditional access, and RBAC (Preferred)
- Experience working in a financial services or highly regulated environment (Preferred)
- Microsoft certifications in relevant Windows/Azure technologies
