We’re supporting a high-performance investment firm as it builds out its next-generation technology environment from the ground up. This is a broad infrastructure role sitting at the intersection of systems, endpoints, cloud, and security - offering exposure across the full stack rather than a narrow specialism. The position is designed for a well-rounded engineer who enjoys working across different domains: Windows-heavy environments with exposure to Linux, networking, and security, alongside increasing use of automation and cloud services. You’ll be contributing to both day-to-day platform stability and longer-term engineering improvements, in a setting where experimentation and iteration are encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and enhance core infrastructure spanning compute, storage, networking, and cloud services
- Manage configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of servers, endpoints, and core platforms
- Troubleshoot issues across multiple layers, from OS-level problems through to network and service-level faults
- Run targeted experiments to evaluate performance, reliability, and system design improvements
- Translate findings into practical, production-ready enhancements
- Contribute to infrastructure design decisions that support scalability and resilience
- Collaborate with security, engineering, and operations teams on cross-functional initiatives
- Introduce automation to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across environments
What You’ll Bring
- 4-8 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or platform-focused roles
- Strong grounding in Windows environments, with working exposure to Linux systems
- Broad technical understanding across compute, networking, and operating systems
- Experience working across both on-premise infrastructure and cloud platforms
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues in unfamiliar systems using first-principles thinking
- Exposure to automation or scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
- Comfortable working in evolving environments without rigid structure or narrow role definition
- Clear communication skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach
- (Preferred) Exposure to security concepts or infrastructure hardening practices
