We’re supporting a globally recognised multi-strategy investment firm searching for an Infrastructure Engineer to join a specialist team that partners directly with Portfolio Managers and Analysts. This is a hands‑on, business‑facing role that blends infrastructure engineering with high‑touch user enablement. You’ll help front‑office teams make effective use of the firm’s platform and cloud ecosystem, while collaborating with core engineering groups to streamline workflows, improve tooling, and resolve complex issues. You’ll work closely with the London team lead, gaining exposure to modern compute platforms, research environments, and cloud services. This position suits someone who enjoys operating between technical engineering teams and investment professionals, and who thrives in fast‑paced financial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Help users adopt and make effective use of AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow, Jenkins, Coder, and other cloud/platform technologies.
- Streamline operational workflows by automating routine tasks, enhancing documentation, and building out knowledge bases.
- Work with engineering and analytics groups to improve data pipelines, deployment processes, and platform integrations.
- Act as a primary contact for PMs and Analysts, offering hands‑on support and guidance across platform, data, and infrastructure services.
- Liaise across cloud, infrastructure, research, and application teams to identify issues, coordinate fixes, and drive platform enhancements.
- Manage and resolve incidents with urgency, ensuring a consistent and reliable support experience for front‑office teams.
- Contribute to the evolution of internal tooling by applying scripting and automation skills across Linux‑based environments.
- Work with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ when resolving issues or supporting application teams.
What You’ll Bring…
- 4–7 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering, platform support, DevOps‑aligned roles, or technical front‑office support within financial services.
- Strong practical experience working with Linux systems.
- Solid scripting/automation ability using Python, with Bash or PowerShell also beneficial.
- Clear, structured communication skills – able to support demanding users and work collaboratively with engineers.
- Familiarity with AWS or other major cloud providers, plus comfort learning new platform technologies.
- Understanding of workflow automation, CI/CD concepts, and modern data tooling.
- Exposure to messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with CTRM/ETRM platforms or distributed data workflows.
- Strong academic background from a selective or highly reputable university (or international equivalent).
- (Preferred) Experience supporting discretionary, macro, commodities, or multi‑asset investment teams.
