We are seeking a Broadcast Engineer focussed on testing and validation to be the interface between the Software Development team and the Broadcast Systems Engineering team to ensure the highest standards of product functionality. The role is predominantly office-based with a need to be in our Bracknell office 3-4 days a week. Occasional travel to UK client sites for support and fault replication may be required.
This role is the 'hub' within multi-disciplinary Techex teams (Development, Support and Technical) to ensure the highest standards of product quality and ensure technical issues are resolved swiftly. You will act as a gateway, testing and validating all functionality released from software development from the perspective of a user engineer. You will be interfacing with our broadcast engineering teams to support the identification and recreation of all bugs, provide workarounds and feed into roadmap, bug fixes and report test results, including defects and issues within a release. You will also be accountable for creating and maintaining internally and externally facing documentation to record:
- The testing regimen and history of individual module releases.
- Performance features (including limitations).
- External release notes for all software releases made either on a beta or GA basis.
- User guides - internally.
You will have accountability for managing the gate process, controlling when software can be released from the development team, and be satisfied any releases have been suitably tested.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast systems or Broadcast engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience of working with software first real-time broadcasting system.
- Demonstrable experience of Scripting.
