We are seeking an experienced Rust developer to join as a part of our small highly agile development team. We work closely with the latest technologies and most progressive broadcasters to push the perceived boundaries of Node.js and Rust and process Gbps of live streaming media data.
As an experienced Rust developer, you will be responsible for working collaboratively to design, develop and maintain our high-performance and scalable software. You will work closely within the team to build new features, optimize performance and fix any issues we discover as well as sharing your knowledge and helping to strengthen the team. Every day can be different based on partner/customer feedback.
The Role
- Develop features for our next-generation media transport/processing/monitoring software
- Maintain our existing internal and production software products
- Participate in team prioritisation and organisation daily, often changing priorities at short notice
- Review other team members' changes as a part of an agile development team, giving feedback and building knowledge
- An opportunity to work with our technical colleagues within some of the world’s major broadcasters contributing to business-critical live broadcasts
Requirements
- Demonstrable Rust experience
- Experience of source control and collaboration through Git
- Basic experience with Linux (CentOS / Ubuntu)
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK
Any of the following is a bonus:
- Flexibility to adapt to new techniques and languages at short notice
- Knowledge of networking, UDP, RTP, Multicast, Unicast
- Knowledge of real-time media transport e.g. Transport Streams
- Experience or desire to help the team grow and strengthen
