Graduate Developer – Test automation at Techex
We are building the future of live broadcast in pure software native for the cloud but with the precision required for the most critical live media content on the planet.
Our software underpins the technology infrastructure for brands like Sky, and BBC, if you would like to see your work playing a critical role at the heart of these systems then get in touch!
We are seeking individuals who have the ability to understand complex systems and the meticulousness to prove those systems work as they should, coupled with the vision to see how they can automate their testing.
Candidates should combine a scientific mindset and methodical process with the ability to convince computers to emulate and surpass a human’s ability to test.
The role is available to recent Bachelors or MSc. MEng. Computer science, Physics or Maths or Engineering graduates from
2025 or who are graduating in 2026.
This role is based at our Bracknell Head office and applicants will need to be able to relocate to the Berkshire/Surrey area.

The Role
- Understand Techex’s range of products and how customers will use them to build comprehensive test plans.
- Create tools and scripts which together automate the evaluation of those test plans.
- Investigate, reproduce, and isolate issues found in your testing, by customers, or by other team members, to provide accurate and useful information to the development team, and be able to verify the fix.
- Work as an equal with developers to ensure that products are developed for testability and that quality is a primary consideration.
- Explore cutting edge technology and tools to achieve the greatest impact with the least tedium.
- Collaborate with our technical colleagues within some of the world’s major broadcasters contributing to business-critical live broadcasts.
- A strong ability to write code in order to solve problems using computers.
- Understanding of computer networking and general IT skills.
- Good teamwork and collaboration with technical and non-technical people.
- A scientific approach to understanding and investigating complex systems.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
Any of the following is a bonus.
- Knowledge of source control and collaboration through Git.
- An interest or experience in live media.
- An interest or experience in realtime processing.
