Techcare is a managed IT and cyber security business serving accountancy practices, law firms and other regulated firms across the West Midlands.
We’ve grown steadily since 2008, heading for £3M turnover and this year won Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce awards for Customer Commitment and Business of the Year.
Finance has been led by our Founder and CEO since day one.
You’ll be our first finance hire, taking on the day-to-day, working closely with the CEO.
A fractional Finance Director is available monthly for the higher-level technical calls.
How you work with the wider team matters as much as the numbers.
We want someone who respects how the business has developed and builds trust, taking people with them when changes are proposed and who relishes the challenge of creating structure early on.
The full day to day finance cycle: board management accounts by working day 10 with commentary that explains the movement, cashflow forecasting, sales and purchase ledger, credit control, VAT and payroll input.
The part that makes the difference is billing accuracy.
We bill hundreds of monthly service agreements and the detail shifts constantly, so you’ll keep what we charge clients and what our suppliers charge us reconciled, catching the gaps before they cost.
Then the commercial work: profitability by project and by client, margin by service line and the pricing calls, telling us what a price change does to the P&L.
That analysis is why we're hiring.

- Motivated by building something from the ground up and at ease with an unstructured start.

- Experience in an MSP, IT reseller or another recurring-billing business.
- Project accounting or work in progress (WIP).
- Been the finance person in a business under 50 people and know what that involves.
