We are seeking an experienced Network Project Manager to lead and coordinate a critical server migration programme for our client, a global consultancy. This role requires a hands-on project manager with strong technical knowledge of networking, server migrations, and Active Directory environments and someone who can effectively manage a team of Server Migration Engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the server migration programme, managing timelines, resources, and dependencies across multiple migration waves
- Manage a team of 3 Server Migration Engineers
- Plan and schedule migration activities with minimal business disruption, coordinating out-of-hours and weekend migration windows as required
- Work closely with infrastructure and application owners
- Monitor migration progress against plans, identifying and resolving blockers, risks, and technical issues
- Maintain programme governance including status reporting, risk registers, issue logs, and migration dashboards (Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow)
- Coordinate break/fix activities when migrations encounter issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal service impact
Experience:
- Proven experience managing complex infrastructure migration projects in enterprise environments
- Experience managing technical teams, coordinating multiple workstreams, and delivering to tight deadlines
- Strong technical understanding of server migrations, particularly Windows Server and Active Directory environments
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP)
- Understanding of virtualisation technologies, hybrid cloud environments (Azure familiarity beneficial), and data centre operations
- Ability to review technical plans, identify potential issues, and challenge engineering approaches constructively
- Familiarity with ITIL change management and operational readiness processes
