Reddit is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team within the Business Experiences group, focusing on Reddit Pro, Profiles, and Publishers. This team aims to empower users, experts, professionals, businesses, and organizations to create engaging content and grow their presence on Reddit. You will be involved in technical and product strategy from the ground floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a high-caliber, inclusive team of engineers.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to execute product and business strategy.
  • Lead a team of motivated engineers, contributing to developer workflows, recommending best practices, and mentoring the team.
  • Participate in the full development cycle: design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
  • Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specs and mocks.
  • Drive a culture of technical excellence.
  • Drive planning, development, and implementation across Reddit’s backend service architecture and client platforms (iOS, Android, and Web).
  • Set and enable a metrics-driven culture with efficient processes and transparency.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer developing user-facing applications.
  • Fluency with product metrics and tools like GA, BigQuery, etc.
  • Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, Java, C++).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong focus on user experience and usability.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a bias towards action.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating in a remote environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy and foster a supportive team environment.
