As a Technical Architect, you will design and guide the implementation of technical solutions for modern digital services. You will analyse complex technical problems, translate them into clear actionable designs, and support engineering teams throughout delivery. You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with architectural principles. Your strong hands-on technical background enables you to provide pragmatic, real-world guidance and ensure designs remain feasible throughout the delivery lifecycle. You will also collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, ensuring architectural decisions are understood, well-communicated and aligned with business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse technical requirements, constraints and dependencies using structured approaches.
  • Design and document technical solutions that meet user, business and security needs.
  • Provide hands‑on architectural guidance to delivery and engineering teams.
  • Identify deeper technical issues and recommend appropriate solution approaches.
  • Support the adoption of design patterns, shared components and reusable solutions.
  • Promote architectural consistency and alignment across systems and services.
  • Engage effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Support design reviews, technical decision‑making and governance activities.
  • Ensure solutions comply with agreed standards, principles and best practices.

Your Profile

  • Strong hands‑on experience in technical architecture and solution design.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical technical designs.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
  • Strong understanding of modern application architectures, including APIs and microservices.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Agile delivery teams and prior Public Sector experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with containerisation and cloud‑native technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working on large‑scale or complex digital programmes.
  • Ability to work effectively within a hybrid working environment.
