We are seeking a Patch Management Specialist to support a critical patch remediation and compliance programme within a highly regulated financial services environment. Working as part of a dedicated cyber and infrastructure team, you will execute patch deployments, support vulnerability remediation activities, and help maintain a secure and compliant technology estate. This role requires a methodical and detail-oriented individual who is comfortable operating within strict change-control processes where system availability and operational stability are paramount.

Reports to: Patch Management Specialist (Senior) / Cyber Practice Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute ring-based patch deployments to schedule, including out-of-hours and weekend windows.
  • Run pre-deployment checks (backup/snapshot confirmation, pending reboots, health) and post-deployment validation/smoke tests.
  • Coordinate snapshot-before-change with the backup specialist on sensitive tiers.
  • Remediate failed patches and re-test; maintain accurate deployment records.
  • Log and progress work through the client’s ticketing/change process; feed status into weekly reporting.

Essential Skills:

  • Hands-on Windows Server and RHEL patching.
  • Strong ITIL/change-management discipline and documentation.
  • Test and validation practice; methodical, low-error working style.
  • Ticketing/ITSM familiarity.

Desirable Skills:

  • Tanium operator experience (trainable for the right candidate); scripting (PowerShell/Bash); regulated-environment exposure.

Certifications:

  • ITIL; OS administration certs; Tanium operator (or trainable).
