The Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role managing the day‑to‑day microbiology laboratory. You’ll lead the team, keep work moving in a fast‑paced environment and step into practical laboratory activities when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support a small team of people, overseeing day‑to‑day laboratory activity and workload.
• Ensure microbiology testing across environmental and medical device work is delivered effectively in a fast‑paced contract testing environment.
• Remain hands‑on within the laboratory, supporting the team directly and stepping into operational work when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous people management experience, with the confidence to lead and develop a laboratory team.
• A strong microbiology background with practical laboratory experience.
• A hands‑on, adaptable approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
