The Role
You'll lead the design, development and optimisation of microfluidic systems for gene synthesis workflows, collaborating with molecular biologists and automation engineers to translate innovative ideas into scalable technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimise droplet-based and microfluidic systems to support gene synthesis and DNA assembly workflows.
- Collaborate with molecular biology and automation teams to integrate microfluidics with robotic platforms and laboratory processes.
- Plan, execute and analyse experiments, troubleshooting technical challenges to improve platform performance and scalability.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience developing microfluidic technologies, ideally including droplet microfluidics or lab-on-a-chip systems.
- Experience supporting applications such as gene synthesis, synthetic biology, genomics or other life science technologies.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment with the ability to independently solve technical challenges and collaborate across disciplines.
