This is a very impressive team of engineers building a product that the market has demanded exists. They are smart and kind, looking for similar traits in the people they hire. This role is for an AI Engineer from a software engineering background. If you have this experience, then we would love to hear from you. The role can be based from the London office or remotely in the UK timezone or within an hour or so. The current team of engineers are 50/50 remote/onsite. The range in salary reflects the levels of experience and mixture of skills they are open to. This role is particularly exciting as the company itself sits in a new AI category – they are all about AI!
A well-funded AI company is looking to hire an AI Engineer. The founding team have operated as founding members of super high-growth tech companies and are perfectly placed to execute on their very niche domain and have strong backing from top investors.
About you:
- This role will suit someone who has worked as an AI Engineer.
- You will ideally crossover with some software engineering experience.
- We are looking for someone who genuinely gets excited about AI and takes real ownership of what they build.
- Strong Python experience (FastAPI or similar frameworks).
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) – prompt engineering, tool use, and RAG patterns.
- Familiarity with agentic frameworks (Pydantic AI, LangChain, or similar).
- Some previous exposure to traditional ML models.
- Experience with vector databases and embedding-based retrieval.
- A habit of keeping up with the rapidly evolving AI landscape and experimenting with new tools.
This role sits within the backend team and works closely with the existing FastAPI codebase, extending it to support sophisticated AI workflows. The AI landscape moves fast – new models and frameworks emerge constantly – and they want someone who is excited to experiment, benchmark, and ship.
