A leading Tier 1 contractor is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their pre-construction team, supporting large-scale refurbishment, decarbonisation, and fire safety programmes across housing and public sector frameworks. This is a key role pricing planned works and compliance-led projects within occupied environments.
Key Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, prelims & OH
- Price refurbishment, retrofit, and fire safety works
- Review drawings/specs and identify risks & value engineering opportunities
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor quotations
- Support bid strategy, adjudications, and tender submissions
- Work closely with design, commercial, and operational teams
Experience Required
- Estimating background with a main contractor / Tier 1
- Strong experience in refurbishment / planned works
- Knowledge of Net Zero / retrofit (fabric, insulation, windows, heating etc.)
- Experience with fire safety works (fire doors, compartmentation, FRA works, cladding)
- Framework, social housing, or public sector project exposure desirable
