Senior Planning Engineer – Permanent Ipswich – Office £65,000 – £75,000 + Car/Allowance + Package National Civils Contractor We’re looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to join a national civil engineering contractor, based from their Head Office in Ipswich and supporting a variety of major civils and infrastructure projects. The key thing with this role is site experience. We’re not looking for someone who has spent their whole career purely in planning. You need to have come from a construction delivery background and understand how civil engineering projects are actually built on site. Ideally, you’ll have previously worked as a Sub Agent, Site Agent, Project Manager, Site Manager or similar, before moving into planning. What we’re looking for: * Strong civil engineering / infrastructure background * Previous hands-on site delivery experience is essential * Background as a Sub Agent, Site Agent, PM, Site Manager or similar * Now operating at Senior Planner / Senior Planning Engineer level * Strong understanding of construction methodology and sequencing * Able to produce realistic, buildable programmes * Comfortable working with operational, engineering and commercial teams * Experience across highways, structures, heavy civils or major infrastructure would be ideal * Strong understanding of planning software and programme management Candidates without a genuine site-based construction background will not be considered.
