Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge with a growing civil engineering contractor? Our client is an established and highly respected civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure, heavy civils and bulk earthworks projects across the East Midlands and surrounding regions. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take commercial responsibility for one or more major civil engineering projects, ensuring commercial performance is maximised while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects from award through to final account.
- Preparing, submitting and negotiating applications for payment and valuations.
- Managing subcontract procurement, payments and contractual obligations.
- Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations.
- Cost forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
- Managing project risk and commercial opportunities.
- Producing accurate monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
- A strong background within civil engineering.
- Experience in heavy civils and bulk earthworks would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- The ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
- A proactive, ambitious attitude with a desire to develop their career.
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
