Job Title: Security Systems – Service & Maintenance Engineer We are looking for a Service and Maintenance Engineer to join the Welcome Gate team in Blackfriars, Lon- don. The mission of the Service and Maintenance Engineer is to ensure all system, maintenance, services and callouts are completed on schedule, and to both the Clients and Welcome Gate Standards. The Service and Maintenance Engineer facilitates successful delivery through maintaining high standards of, servicing, maintenance, callout attendance and application of troubleshooting techniques to leave Clients feeling delighted with their site visit. Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the delivery of Service and Maintenance activities (either direct or through manage-ment of contractors).
- High quality Service and Maintenance documentation and reports.
- Be client facing with great communication and interpersonal skills for managing client interactions.
- Troubleshooting specialist who can apply great fault finding techniques for timely resolution.
- Provide Technical knowledge and support to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Flexible to attend multiple callouts daily and improve first time fix rate (FTFR)
- Flexible to support the Project Installations team and backfill any shortfalls.
- Encourage client feedback surveys for measuring client satisfaction and making improvements to the service.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented engineer.
- Practical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate activities at multiple sites.
- Time-management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Works well under pressure.
- IT literacy, MS Office and ideally proficient in the use of work management applications.
- Demonstrable knowledge of IP technology.
- Good understanding of networking (e.g. Cisco, TCP/IP, routing, switching).
- Service and Maintenance QA and report writing.
- A proven problem solver.
- A can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently.
- Self-improvement, the ability, and aptitude to learn new systems.
- Experienced at installing security systems with speed and accuracy.
- The ability to review site plans and engineer notes and provide feedback and advice to colleagues, fit-out contractors and clients.
- Willing to meet the company ethos of offering independent professional advice to the client.
Experience, Licences & Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-8 year’s industry experience working within Security Systems Service and Maintenance industry.
- Demonstrated ability Servicing, Maintaining and Troubleshooting on systems such as;
- Access Control (Preferably - Brivo, Openpath, S2, Lenel, C-cure, Inner Range).
- Intercoms (Preferably - 2N, Comelit).
- CCTV (Preferably – Axis, Hik Vision, Avigilion, Eagle Eye, Milestone).
- Intruder Alarm (Preferably - Galaxy, Texecom, Scantronic, Pyronix, Inner Range).
- Customer facing experience and able to complete multiple activities in the same day.
- Experience in integrating multiple systems e.g. hardwire link access control and intruder alarm.
- Familiarity with Service and Maintenance expectations to meet NSI standards.
- Advanced understanding of IP networks and VLANS.
- Full and clean UK driving license.
Important information
- You will be expected to work a reasonable amount of paid overtime (Service and Callouts can extend into overtime hours in the working week and at weekends infrequently).
- The ability to support the on-call rota and attend sites out of hours. (£125 allowance per week standby payment) Overtime door-to-door when travelling from home
- Overtime rates are 1.5T Mon – Sat and 2T Sundays.
