The Opportunity

Tech Recruits is working with an established national Security Systems Integrator looking to recruit an experienced Security Service Engineer to support a portfolio of commercial properties across Greater Manchester.

The business has a long-standing reputation within the security industry and works with major commercial property organisations, utilities providers and infrastructure clients across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical expertise, particularly within enterprise Access Control and CCTV systems, with manufacturer training available.

The Role

As a Security Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting electronic security systems across a portfolio of commercial buildings, including high-rise offices and city centre properties.

You will work independently, delivering planned maintenance, reactive service and fault-finding across CCTV and Access Control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain CCTV and Access Control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults across commercial security installations.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits.
• Support security systems installed across high-rise commercial buildings and office environments.
• Complete accurate service reports and technical documentation.
• Manage your own workload and daily service visits.
• Deliver a professional service to commercial clients.
• Participate in the regional on-call rota.

Systems & Technology

You will be working with:

• Access Control: Gallagher
• CCTV: Avigilon and Mirasys

Previous experience with Gallagher or Mirasys is advantageous but not essential.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Security Service Engineer.
• Good working knowledge of CCTV and Access Control systems.
• Experience with servicing, fault-finding and maintaining electronic security installations.
• Ability to work independently and manage service schedules.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to undertake manufacturer training.
• Ability to complete required security and background checks.

Salary & Benefits

• Basic salary circa £38,000 per annum.
• Additional earning potential through overtime and call-out.
• Existing Northern engineers reportedly earning approximately £10,000 per annum above basic salary through additional work.
• Weekday overtime at 1.5x from 5pm to midnight.
• Double time from midnight.
• Saturday overtime at 1.5x until midday, then double time through to Monday morning.
• Call-out rota of approximately 1 week in 10.
• £30 allowance per on-call shift.
• Choice of company car or van.
• Paid travel time, excluding the first and last 30 minutes.
• 25 days annual leave.
• Gallagher and other specialist manufacturer training.
• Long-term career development within an established national business.
