Our client, a well-established security and technology integrator, is seeking an Installation Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridgeshire. If you’re looking to advance your career in security systems installation and have hands-on experience with IP CCTV, access control and intruder systems, this permanent role offers genuine progression opportunities and the chance to develop expertise in fibre technology.

Position Overview

As an Installation Engineer, you’ll install, configure and commission systems across a diverse client base ranging from large manufacturers to solar farms and heritage buildings. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality installations that meet client specifications and industry standards, working both independently and as part of a team to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.

Responsibilities

  • Install IP CCTV systems including HikVision and Axis camera networks and recording infrastructure.
  • Commission access control systems using Paxton Net2 platforms across various building types.
  • Set up and test intruder alarm systems including Pyronix equipment and integration.
  • Assist with fibre optic installation and termination, developing technical knowledge in this growing area.
  • Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to ensure all installations meet client requirements.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their security needs and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain accurate installation records and documentation for each project.

Requirements

  • Proven experience installing IP CCTV systems (HikVision, Axis or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with access control systems (Paxton Net2 or similar platforms).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of intruder alarm systems (Pyronix or comparable).
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow installation specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in fibre technology.
  • Good communication skills and professional approach to client interactions.
