Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable HVAC Engineer to join a site-based engineering team in Northampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out HVAC-related duties while supporting the Mechanical & Electrical Engineer with general maintenance tasks across the site. A positive, professional and flexible "can-do" attitude is essential. The role will require someone who is comfortable working across a range of tasks and is willing to assist with basic electrical, plumbing and fabric maintenance when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HVAC maintenance, servicing and repair duties across the site.
- Diagnose and resolve HVAC-related faults efficiently and professionally.
- Support the Mechanical & Electrical Engineer with day-to-day site maintenance.
- Assist with basic electrical maintenance tasks where required.
- Carry out basic plumbing tasks and general building maintenance.
- Assist with fabric maintenance and minor repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and site requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed where required.
- Work effectively as part of the engineering and facilities team.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support colleagues across different maintenance disciplines.
- Maintain a professional and positive approach at all times.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2079-11 - Category I F-Gas and ODS Regulations qualification.
- City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 Diploma in an appropriate HVAC/refrigeration discipline.
- Level 2 and/or Level 3 NVQ in an appropriate HVAC/refrigeration discipline.
- Previous experience working as an HVAC Engineer in a commercial or facilities environment.
- Good knowledge of HVAC systems, maintenance and fault finding.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
