A leading contractor is looking for a Multiskilled Operative (Mechanical / Electrical / Handyman / Carpentry) to join a hospital maintenance team.
Start date: 16/03/2026
This is an ongoing maintenance position on a secure healthcare site.
Shift Pattern (Continental Shift):
- 12-hour shifts - 6am-6pm (days) / 6pm-6am (nights)
- 14 shifts per month
Rate: £30 per hour (flat rate for days and nights)
What you'll do:
- Fault diagnosis across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Service, maintenance, and repair of mechanical plant and water systems
- Basic electrical maintenance and small works
- General building maintenance, handyman duties, and basic carpentry
- Water sampling, incubation, flushing, and cooling tower checks
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Working in live environments including hospital wards and critical areas
- Ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with hospital regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Multiskilled Operative within commercial or healthcare environments
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
- Basic DBS check (essential)
- Own tools and full PPE
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred
- Experience working in hospitals or critical environments highly desirable
