Fabric Technician, Stockton-on-Tees, start 07/09/2026, Basic DBS

Duration: Initially until the end of October 2026
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Hours: 11:30am - 8:35pm
PAYE Rate: 14.66 per hour
Umbrella Rate: 19.09 per hour
We are currently looking for an experienced Fabric Technician to work on a hospital site in Stockton-on-Tees for a major Building Services / Facilities Management company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out reactive maintenance, PPMs and minor project works across the hospital.
Duties will include:
- Responding to reactive maintenance works
- Repairs to floor and wall coverings
- Ceiling tile repairs and replacements
- General fabric, carpentry and building maintenance
- Door, ironmongery and general installation repairs
- Lighting and general lamp changes
- Basic plumbing works
- Filter changes to AHUs / FCUs
- Completing reactive and PPM jobs within agreed timescales
- Carrying out minor project works
- Completing site surveys and assisting with RAMS and Works Requests
- Liaising professionally with the client's representatives
- Using a PDA to record completed works and provide updates
- Ensuring all works are completed safely and in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
Requirements:
- Previous fabric maintenance and carpentry experience
- City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in Carpentry preferred
- Experience working in a high-profile environment
- Valid Basic DBS - essential
- Full UK driving licence
- PC literate
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to understand technical drawings, instructions and processesAble to organise your own workload and identify material requirements
- Own tools and PPE
