LA International is seeking an experienced Manual Test Engineer to support a major Central Government programme with strong long-term project potential. This role is ideal for QA professionals who have a strong background in mobile and application testing, accessibility compliance, defect management, and stakeholder engagement within complex enterprise environments.

Detailed Job Description

As a Manual Test Engineer, you will be responsible for validating software functionality, ensuring accessibility compliance, supporting large-scale testing initiatives, and maintaining high-quality delivery standards across critical government systems. Working closely with project teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams, you will execute test activities, manage defects, support testing governance processes, and contribute to continuous quality improvement. The successful candidate will have experience working within structured testing environments, providing detailed analysis, supporting accessibility requirements, and managing complex testing scenarios. This role offers exposure to high-profile government projects and cutting-edge technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, and accessibility testing.
  • Conduct mobile application testing using Appium and Android testing tools.
  • Analyze network traffic and troubleshooting information using Wireshark.
  • Utilize Android Debug Bridge (ADB) for debugging and validation activities.
  • Support testing activities involving Playwright and Selenium environments.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage defect identification, tracking, validation, and resolution processes.
  • Participate in defect triage meetings and provide testing recommendations.
  • Maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) and testing documentation.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, developers, and business teams.
  • Support SIT, UAT, release validation, and production readiness activities.
  • Produce testing reports, metrics, and quality assessments for project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Manual Test Engineer or Software Test Engineer.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Appium.
  • Experience using Wireshark for analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Android Debug Bridge (ADB).
  • Practical experience with Playwright and/or Selenium.
  • Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility testing standards.
  • Experience managing defects through structured defect‑management processes.
  • Experience conducting defect triage and resolution management.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management and communication skills.
  • Experience maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM).
  • Hands‑on experience using Jira and Zephyr.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience working within structured project and testing methodologies.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Telecommunications industry experience.
  • Experience with Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP standards and telecommunications protocols.
  • Experience testing telecom, network, or communications‑related applications.
  • Government or regulated‑industry project experience.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualification.
  • Mobile network testing experience.
