You’ll be part of Bain’s Global Coaching Team, a collaborative and high-impact team that provides and enables transformational coaching, experiences, and training to help Bainies perform at their full potential, navigate their careers with intention, and deliver extraordinary results. The Global Coaching team sits within the Global Talent Engagement department, which champions a transformative approach to belonging, resilience, and wellbeing that enables our diverse teams to collaborate seamlessly, achieve exceptional results, and grow together. We bring together coaching professionals with expertise in strategy consulting, executive coaching, leadership development, and career transitions. The team partners with local office and regional leadership, Talent, and Learning teams globally to ensure Bain leaders at all levels have access to world-class support, insights, and tools.

The Senior Manager, EMEA, Global Coaching will play a critical role in delivering Bain’s global coaching strategy in EMEA by providing guidance and coaching to Bain employees (with an emphasis on those in leadership roles), leading training/group coaching sessions, supporting clients with priority junior executive talent needs, and advising office talent teams on best practices for individualized coaching programs, career/departure support, and building coaching capabilities in the line.

This includes overseeing and delivering high-quality coaching experiences across the Global Coaching team’s main areas of work:

  • Coaching: individual, on-demand, programmatic, and group coaching for key talent populations and leaders within Bain
  • Departure Support: career transition coaching and job search support, as well as talent identification for key senior roles at client/alumni organisations
  • Capability Building: in collaboration with the global training team and local office contacts, deliver coaching and career planning training

Responsibilities:

  • Local office stakeholder engagement (20%): Act as trusted advisor to local leadership, careers and departure teams in several assigned EMEA offices (includes HR, staffing, Career/Departure Partner, etc.) on their nuanced talent needs. Regularly analyze data and metrics and elevate insights to ensure best in class support.
  • Coaching (30%): Deliver 1:1 and group coaching engagements for Bain employees, with a bias towards more senior coachees (Manager+); stay current with our offerings and trends/themes among those we support. Work with EMEA and Global Coaching leadership to set aspirations, goals, and metrics to measure success in assigned offices. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key coaching needs for local talent populations.
  • Career and departure support (30%): Provide one-on-one confidential career support with an emphasis on priority populations. Build relationships with employers, clients, recruitment agencies, and alumni to keep pulse on industry job trends/climate and facilitating introductions of departing employees and alumni. Assist Bain clients and alumni with mid-level talent needs by helping to identify departing Bain employee or alumni candidates for relevant open roles. Use departure data and feedback to identify trends, inform decision-making, and enhance the Bain departure experience.
  • Capability building (10%): Deliver training and workshops to build leadership and coaching capability across the firm’s talent. Facilitate sessions on career-related topics for priority coaching populations.
  • Regional and Global team collaboration (10%): Coordinate and collaborate with the regional and global coaching team to share best practices, learnings and help build the global coaching brand in EMEA and beyond. Contribute to/lead regional or global initiatives to further grow and innovate global coaching in line with the global strategy.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Education: Required: ICF Coaching Certification, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Preferred: Masters in Business, Org, Psych (or a related field).
  • Experience: Required: 10+ years of relevant experience, work in executive, leadership and/or career coaching, exposure to professional services, corporate coaching, or executive search, experience designing, leading and implementing coaching programmes in complex organisations, experience using technology and data to enhance coaching or learning programs, proven ability to develop well-planned strategies and achieve goals within tight timelines. Preferred: Experience in a consulting firm and/or with the post-consulting job market.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Coaching know-how: familiarity with coaching modalities that unlock transformation; experience supporting others at career inflection points, while navigating a job search or during times of transition with a strong growth and future-focused mindset. Flexible and dynamic: ability to work in a dynamic coaching team with a deep commitment to helping others succeed. Comfort with ambiguity, flexibility across global contexts, and agility to evolve offerings in response to firm needs. Data-driven: Delivering insights to stakeholders based on analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, comfort operating within a data-driven environment. Influencing and relationship building skills: Strong influencing skills and relationship development ability across all levels of the organization to build credibility and implement change. Underpinned by effective, succinct and professional communication. Language and culture: Fluent in English and another language – French, German or Spanish. Possess an international mindset, with experience navigating cultural differences.
