Location: Worksop, UK | Full-time (Mon–Fri, 40 hours)

Our client is an established UK-based engineering manufacturer, specialising in the design and build of specialist vehicles and equipment.

The role

You’ll join a growing engineering team focused on the design and development of complex vehicle-based systems and associated equipment. This is a hands-on role covering the full design lifecycle, from concept through to production support, with direct involvement in manufacturing and build environments.

Key responsibilities

  • 3D CAD design and production of detailed engineering drawings
  • Concept design and development of components, fabrications, machined parts, and general assemblies
  • Creation and maintenance of engineering documentation and project files
  • Updating drawings and designs in line with continuous improvement activities
  • Providing engineering support to production, resolving build and design issues

Requirements

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, kinematics or other complex mechanical systems
  • Strong grounding in mechanical engineering principles
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor or similar)
  • Experience designing mechanisms involving linkages, pivots, and actuators
  • Good understanding of fabrication, machining, and weld design
  • Ability to carry out manual calculations (stress, strain, force analysis)
  • Experience with FEA
  • Practical experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Understanding of engineering change processes and ISO 9001
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a design engineering role

Desirable

  • Experience with vehicle or mobile equipment design
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Familiarity with vehicle regulations, CE marking, and machinery directives
  • Experience using AutoCAD
