Hours: Early and late rotating shifts, Monday to Friday
Shift Pattern: 6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm

On behalf of our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, we are recruiting a number of Prep Operators to join their busy production facility in Pontypool. Working as part of the Paint and Production team, you will be responsible for preparing commercial automotive parts to a high standard prior to the paint and refinishing process. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, attention to detail and teamwork are essential.
The Role
- Preparing automotive parts and surfaces prior to painting and refinishing.
- Sanding, rubbing down and preparing surfaces to the required standard.
- Identifying and rectifying surface imperfections, defects and contaminants prior to paint application.
- Masking and protecting areas as required before the painting process.
- Using a range of hand tools and preparation equipment safely and effectively.
- Working closely with the Paint department to ensure parts are prepared correctly and production requirements are met.
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure surfaces meet the required finish and conformity standards.
- Following defined production processes, build instructions and technical procedures.
- Identifying defects and resolving issues in a timely manner without compromising quality or productivity.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in an automotive paint preparation, bodyshop, paint shop or manufacturing environment.
- A strong eye for detail and a commitment to achieving high-quality finishes.
- Experience using a range of hand tools and preparation equipment.
- The ability to identify and rectify surface defects and imperfections.
- A good understanding of quality standards and the importance of right-first-time production.
