Fabrication Technician & Senior Fabrication Technician Location: Northamptonshire Salary: £35,000 – £43,000 (DOE) Sector: Automotive / Motorsport Manufacturing We\’re supporting a specialist automotive and motorsport manufacturer in the recruitment of a Fabrication Technician (£35k) and a Senior Fabrication Technician (£43k) to join their growing manufacturing team. Both roles are hands-on and focused on producing high-quality, low-volume assemblies to tight specifications. You\’ll work closely with the Fabrication Supervisor and Principal Fabricators, contributing to projects that demand precision, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Interpret engineering drawings and define fabrication methods. Set up and operate fabrication equipment, fixtures, and tooling. Carry out MIG, TIG, and spot welding on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Support machinery maintenance and inspection schedules. Maintain records and ensure adherence to quality processes. Identify and contribute to process improvements. Support and mentor junior team members (Senior role). Uphold workshop safety and housekeeping standards. Qualifications & Experience City & Guilds or equivalent fabrication qualification. Fabrication Technician: 2+ years\’ experience in automotive or motorsport fabrication. Senior Fabrication Technician: 3+ years\’ experience with proven advanced fabrication skills. Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and 3D models. Knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and inspection processes. Skills & Attributes Skilled in precision sheet metal and welded fabrication. Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
