Overview
Our client is a well established manufacturer within the leisure marine industry, based in Havant. They are looking for a Production Planner to join their busy Planning team, supporting the coordination of production activities across multiple manufacturing areas.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in production planning or supply chain who wants to make a real impact in a fast paced, hands on manufacturing environment.
What you'll be doing
- Creating and maintaining weekly production schedules across the Machine Shop, Router, Paint Cells and Assembly Lines
- Monitoring production capacity and flagging issues to the Planning Manager and Operations team
- Reviewing customer orders to ensure materials and components are available when needed
- Raising and managing production orders within the MRP system
- Managing subcontractor requirements to keep materials aligned with production schedules
- Working closely with Procurement, Operations, Logistics and Sales to meet customer delivery expectations
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Planning department
- Helping drive down late deliveries to customers
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience in production planning or supply chain
- Experience using an MRP or ERP system
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel preferred
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine interest in process improvement
- Commutable to Havant (ideally within 45 minutes)
