We're recruiting a Junior Design Engineer for a well-established UK manufacturer based in Havant. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone eager to develop their mechanical design skills within a fast-paced, product-focused design office — working on real projects from concept through to production.

The Role

You’ll be supporting the design team on new product development and mechanical design tasks, including 3D modelling, prototyping, test plans, and design modifications. There’s genuine scope to take ownership of a full project lifecycle early in your career.

What They’re Looking For

  • Degree in an engineering discipline (advantageous, not essential)
  • Familiarity with core mechanical design principles — statics, dynamics, mechanisms
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: sheet metal, castings, injection moulding, machining
  • CAD experience (CREO advantageous but not essential as training is provided)
  • Understanding of DFM/DFA, tolerancing, and root cause analysis
  • Marine industry knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement
  • Motivated, communicative, and keen to learn

Salary: up to £28k DOE
Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
25 days holiday + Bank holidays (option to buy 5 extra days)
