THE OPPORTUNITY
We're partnered exclusively with a well-established Defence Technology SME, who are currently seeking a QHSE Manager to join them on a part time basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all quality, safety and compliance aspects of the business activities, working from a strong perspective of continuous improvement.
- Manage these areas in a commercially viable manner, suitable for the operation of a small to medium sized company.
- Proactive and independent, able to communicate with stakeholders to promote the positive impact effective quality systems can have on the business.
- Support the introduction of a new DMS.
- Quality
- Develop, implement, review and oversee existing QHSE management systems, ensuring compliance with local, national and international standards and legislation.
- Focus on auditing, monitoring, and review - reviewing processes to improve and re-implement procedures.
- Familiarity with engineering projects in an electronics design/development and manufacturing facility, where tracking design changes is key.
- Lead both internal and external audits, liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure readiness and compliance, addressing any findings with appropriate corrective actions.
- Experience of working within an ISO environment and gaining accreditations.
- Liaise with relevant enforcement agencies.
- H&S
- Ensure safety and security in the workplace.
- Manage and perform risk assessments.
- Involved in all H&S areas - fire/emergency/disaster planning, incidents, injuries, near misses, COSHH, environmental factors, etc.
- Identify and assess training needs.
THE PERSON
- Technical background with a proven track record of success in senior QHSE roles.
- Experience of maintaining an ISO 9001 accreditation is essential.
- A self-motivated individual, being a subject matter expert in this field.
- Experience of implementing a DMS would be helpful.
