Welder - Farnborough
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing customer based in the UK, who are seeking a skilled Welder to join their Production team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating complex parts and sub-assemblies, working from detailed technical drawings and ensuring all work is completed to the required quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and accurately understand detailed technical drawing packs and welding symbols.
Cut and weld metal products to fabricate parts and sub-assemblies.
Set up and safely operate MIG and TIG welding equipment.
Weld mainly aluminium thin-gauge material, as well as mild steel and stainless steel.
Assemble parts and structures by accurately aligning and joining components through welding.
Fabricate complex builds and designs using multi-level Bills of Materials (Bo Ms).
Prepare finished products by cleaning and ensuring they are ready for painting.
Use inspection and measuring equipment, including micrometers and vernier gauges.
Complete required documentation and ensure work is manufactured in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years' welding experience, particularly with aluminium thin-gauge materials.
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes.
Fabrication experience, including working with multi-level Bills of Materials.
Strong experience using grinders and manual/electric tools.
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and welding symbols.
Experience using inspection and measuring equipment such as micrometers and vernier gauges.
Previous experience working with aviation parts is desirable.
Knowledge of standard quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone is desirable.
