About Tech Against Terrorism
Tech Against Terrorism aims to save lives and prevent harm by disrupting terrorist activity online and upholding human rights. We use open-source intelligence investigation, sophisticated technical tooling, and an established capacity-building apparatus for tech platforms to tackle terrorist activity online and counter the exploitation of digital spaces by terrorist and violent extremist (TVE) actors.
We work closely with the United Nations, tech platforms, democratic governments, and civil society. We are seeking to scale our efforts to monitor and disrupt TVE exploitation of online spaces by expanding our established team of OSINT Analysts in hiring another analyst in the UK.
Our flagship technical product is the Terrorist Content Analytics Platform (TCAP), an alerting system to report and record terrorist or violent extremist content found online. To date, the TCAP has alerted more than 130 tech platforms to over 30,000 pieces of terrorist material on their servers. As of 2024, the TCAP also operates an archive of terrorist content to permit researchers to access terrorist material in a secure and safe location, and provide a hash-sharing capability to assist platforms in content moderation.
Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must have full right to work in the UK in order to be considered. Candidates will be expected to undertake and pass a police check and additional checks for security clearance at an SC level, which typically requires a minimum of five years' continuous UK residency immediately prior to application.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have a professional background in:
- Developing and implementing OSINT tooling and technical solutions to problems relating to online harms
- Product management and development
- Data analysis - from collection to visualisation in order to extract actionable insights
