Role: IT Support Engineer (Backfill Support)

Location: Manchester-UK

Support Duration: On 15th May 2026

Resource Requirement: 1 Backfill Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, peripherals, and software/applications
  • Work with OEM vendors for spare replacement, hardware repairs, and troubleshooting
  • Provide EUC (End User Computing) support
  • Manage IT inventory and assets
  • Perform imaging of laptops and desktops
  • Printer installation and management
  • Support conference room issues and vendor coordination for setup
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) services for IT assets
  • Support mobile devices and non-PC equipment such as scanners and printers
  • Provide VIP support with high-touch service
  • Manage AV / conferencing technologies
  • Install and manage network/shared printers
  • Provide Office 365 support
  • Handle compliance software installation and troubleshooting
  • Maintain strong communication with users and stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of DHCP and DNS
  • Coordinate vendor support and assist with procurement
  • Support macOS devices
  • Adhere strictly to Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Support meetings, events, and after-hours activities when required
  • Document incidents, problems, and resolutions for future reference

Good to Have Skills

  • L1 level network troubleshooting for LAN connectivity
  • Hands & Feet support to backend teams for Network / Server / Application issues
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues
  • Labelling racks and devices
  • Server mounting / movement
  • Hands & Feet support for Data Center environments (Compute, Storage, Backup, Network)
  • Physical support for servers, network devices, and storage equipment
  • Device reboot, console connection, cable/SFP removal & insertion, cable replacement
  • Racking / stacking activities
