About the role
The faculty of Automotive, Construction & Engineering are now looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Tutor to join the well-established team. This is a fast-paced and diverse role, in which you will work closely with colleagues and Heads of Faculty to provide high quality and industry relevant teaching and learning in the field of electrical installation.
Other duties will include:
- Robust tracking and management of learner attendance
- Ensuring learner work (assessment and feedback to learners) is of a high standard, ensuring aspirational targets are met
- Creating and maintaining records such as registers and learner tracking/progress information, including planning documents such as schemes of learning
- Monitoring of curriculum delivery and content to ensure teaching is up to date and reflects current industry practices.
- Supporting learner meetings, parents’ evenings and other college events
- The safeguarding of learners and young adults in line with sector expectations
About the person
The successful candidate will have experience in an electrical installation environment, excellent communication skills with a focus on the learner experience, as well as strong organisation and administrative skills.
Candidates should also have:
- Level 2/GCSE Maths and English
- Level 3 or higher in a qualification relevant to the job role
- Teaching Qualification – Cert Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards
- Enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility
- A working knowledge if IT programmes such as Word and Excel
