About the role
We are seeking an ICT Technician to provide reliable, customer‑focused IT support within a Further or Higher Education environment. The role involves delivering first and second-line technical support for staff and students, maintaining ICT systems, networks, devices, and learning technologies, and providing classroom and audio‑visual support to underpin teaching, learning, and assessment. The postholder will support user account and device management, promote secure and appropriate use of ICT in line with safeguarding, GDPR, and health & safety requirements, and contribute to service improvement through effective documentation, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.
About the person
The successful candidate will have experience providing ICT technical support in a structured environment, ideally within education or the public sector, with proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and user issues. They will also hold the following qualifications:
- GCSE (Level 2) English and Maths
- Level 3 qualification in ICT or equivalent experience, with relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or ITIL desirable.
A full UK driving license and willingness to travel between sites are required. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, basic networking, and cyber‑security principles is required, alongside excellent customer service and communication skills, a methodical approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to support non‑technical users.
