Are you an experienced Functional Safety Engineer looking for a flexible contract role within a safety-critical environment? We\’re supporting a leading engineering consultancy as they deliver functional safety support to a long-term national infrastructure project in the nuclear sector.

Responsibilities
- Deliver functional safety assessments across complex engineering systems in line with relevant standards and methodologies.
- Carry out safety analyses including FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, and LOPA.
- Contribute to the development and review of safety case documentation.
- Engage with design and engineering teams to ensure systems meet required safety integrity levels.
- Provide input into safety plans and verification strategies.
- Present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- A degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience in functional safety engineering within nuclear, defence, aerospace or other regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC , IEC or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on safety-related tasks and documentation.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Must be a British national and eligible for SC clearance.
