Overview
We are working with a leading UK-based electronics manufacturer that designs and produces high-performance test and measurement systems used across aerospace, automotive, and advanced technology sectors. The company operates internationally and continues to invest heavily in product innovation and engineering excellence.
This role offers the chance to join a highly experienced design team and lead projects from concept through to production - developing cutting-edge electronic hardware that underpins complex testing and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of digital, analogue, and RF hardware products
- Define product and design specifications in collaboration with Product Management
- Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer
- Select components, perform simulations, and carry out performance analysis
- Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and final products
- Conduct debugging and validation using oscilloscopes, logic and spectrum analysers
- Collaborate with software and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration
- Mentor and support junior engineers through technical guidance
- Manage full product lifecycle from concept to release
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and support production teams
Key Skills and Experience
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong background in hardware design and development
- Proficiency with Altium Designer
- Expertise in high-speed digital, RF, power management, and EMI/EMC design
- Experience within test and measurement, instrumentation, or related industries
- Familiarity with FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog) or microcontroller-based systems
- Understanding of embedded software principles
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
