TEC Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a growing precision engineering company based in Thetford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist looking to join a stable and well-established manufacturing environment with long-term career prospects.

The Role

The position will involve setting and operating CNC Turning machines to manufacture precision engineered components to customer specifications and engineering drawings.

Key responsibilities

  • Setting and operating CNC Turning Centres
  • Tooling selection and machine set-up
  • Adjusting offsets and machine parameters
  • Producing components to tight tolerances
  • Performing quality inspection checks
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Supporting continuous production output
  • Maintaining health & safety standards within the workshop

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator
  • CNC Turning / Lathe experience
  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens or Mitsubishi controls
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment

Desirable Experience

  • DMG MORI or Citizen machinery
  • Multi‑axis turning
  • Live tooling
  • Minor program editing
  • Continuous improvement / production optimisation experience
