I'm partnering with a major organisation delivering large-scale infrastructure and capital projects, who are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive H&S professional who enjoys working across multiple sites, influencing safety culture, and providing hands-on support across complex construction and delivery projects.
The Role
You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, supporting project teams, and driving continuous improvement across capital delivery activities. Working closely with project managers and site teams, you'll provide expert advice, lead inspections and investigations, and promote a strong, positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and monitor performance against Health, Safety and Wellbeing objectives within capital delivery projects
- Provide expert H&S advice to project and site teams in line with legislation and best practice
- Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard management activities, and root cause investigations
- Coach and mentor project managers and site supervisors to improve safety performance
- Provide technical guidance in high-risk areas including CDM, temporary works, site set-up, excavations, service avoidance, and hazardous substances
- Lead incident investigations and report findings with clear recommendations
- Support compliance with CDM Regulations and attend design and progress meetings
- Work collaboratively with wider safety, wellbeing, and security teams
About You
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety advisory role within construction or capital delivery environments
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM 2015 Regulations
- NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent
- Minimum CertIOSH status (CMIOSH / CFIOSH desirable)
- Confident communicator with strong investigation, interviewing, and report-writing skills
- Able to influence, coach, and challenge stakeholders at all levels
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and managing competing priorities
Essential Requirements
- Full right to work in the UK
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Willingness to travel regularly between sites
