Engineering Recruitment Specialist at TEC Partners Our client, a well-established engineering company based in Sudbury, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the full product lifecycle, from concept through to manufacturing, within a dynamic and growing business. Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks (3D CAD). Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings for manufacturing. Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet specifications and manufacturing feasibility. Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and documentation to support production. Identify and resolve design issues, providing innovative solutions to engineering challenges. Maintain engineering databases and drawing libraries in line with ISO standards. Support product testing, prototyping, and validation processes. Experience & Skills Required: Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design within an engineering/manufacturing environment. Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D CAD) is essential. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience with sheet metal design, fabrication, or machining processes is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to engineering challenges. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
