TEC Partners are supporting a leading defence engineering organisation in the search for a Principal ILS & Obsolescence Engineer to join a growing specialist team delivering complex maritime and defence programmes across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a senior technical role focused on Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Obsolescence Management, supporting the long-term sustainment and operational readiness of critical defence systems.

Working across the full engineering lifecycle, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers and suppliers to develop supportability strategies, manage obsolescence risks and ensure systems remain maintainable and effective throughout their operational life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support ILS and Obsolescence activities across major engineering programmes
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the full product lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain supportability and sustainment strategies
  • Identify and manage obsolescence risks across complex systems
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers and partner organisations
  • Ensure ILS deliverables align with programme and quality requirements
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to wider engineering teams
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of ILS processes and best practice
RequirementsEssential
  • Proven experience within Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and/or Obsolescence Engineering
  • Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle support principles
  • Experience managing customer and supplier relationships
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor others
Desirable
  • Experience within defence, maritime, aerospace or highly regulated engineering environments
  • Exposure to complex or mission-critical systems
