We are currently seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our client on a 12-month contract based in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation projects in a hands-on, fully on-site role.

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of advanced automation solutions. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning, ensuring high-quality and innovative engineering outcomes.

  • Develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to a high standard
  • Produce technical documentation including manuals, test procedures, and system specifications
  • Follow and support project timelines set by the Systems Engineering Manager
  • Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities

Strong experience with PLC programming (IEC 61131-3 languages preferred)

Proven expertise in SCADA systems and industrial automation

Solid understanding of control systems and electrical integration

Experience with CAD tools such as Visio or E-Plan Electric P8

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols

Competitive, negotiable day rate ~ 12-month contract with strong likelihood of extension ~ Opportunity to work on innovative and technically challenging projects
