The Role
Senior Systems Engineer role within a leading engineering organisation developing advanced radar and sensing technologies.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from concept and requirements capture through to integration, verification, customer acceptance and in-service support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer to work on technically challenging products alongside software, electronics and mechanical engineering teams.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will
- Support the full systems engineering lifecycle from concept through to delivery and customer acceptance.
- Develop system architectures, requirements and technical solutions.
- Plan and support system integration, verification and validation activities.
- Work closely with software, electronics and mechanical engineering teams throughout product development.
- Identify, assess and manage technical risks across projects.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, specifications and engineering reports.
- Participate in design reviews and customer-facing engineering activities.
- Mentor and support junior engineers within the Systems Engineering team.
- Contribute to multiple engineering projects across a diverse product portfolio.
- Travel to customer and project sites when required.
About You
We\'re looking for an engineer with a solid background in systems engineering and product development who enjoys solving complex technical challenges within multidisciplinary environments.
You will ideally have experience with
- Systems design, integration and testing.
- The complete product lifecycle, from concept through to delivery.
- Working across software, electronics and mechanical engineering disciplines.
- Technical risk management.
- Producing engineering documentation, specifications and technical reports.
- Communicating effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Holding a full UK driving licence.
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous
- Radar or radio systems.
- Communications protocols including RS232, RS485, TCP/IP or CANbus.
- Defence, maritime or navigation systems.
- Leading engineering work packages and design reviews.
- Project planning and technical leadership.
- EMC testing and compliance.
- Electronic fault finding and diagnostics.
- Oscilloscopes, multimeters and spectrum analysers.
- Verification to MIL-STD, Def Stan or IEC standards.
- Working within ESD-controlled environments.
- Membership of a professional engineering institution such as the IET, IMech E or INCOSE.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
