Control Systems Engineer (Automation) in Cornwall, Saltash

A growing engineering and manufacturing technology business is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join its expanding team. The company designs and delivers advanced automated equipment and process solutions used in high-performance manufacturing environments across a range of industries, including marine, aerospace, renewable energy and advanced composites. Design and develop electrical and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment. Create software solutions for machine control, monitoring, regulation and automation. Produce technical specifications, electrical designs, schematics and supporting documentation. Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through to commissioning and customer handover. Research and implement new technologies and engineering solutions to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes. Provide technical support and training to customers, both remotely and on-site. Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams to support project delivery and customer requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and quality standards. Degree-qualified in Engineering or equivalent industry experience. Minimum 1 year of experience in a Control Systems, Automation or related engineering role. Experience developing electrical and electronic control systems. Strong understanding of industrial automation principles. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required. Experience with PLC programming. Knowledge of automated machinery, manufacturing equipment or process control systems. Experience supporting commissioning and installation activities. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Curious mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience.
