We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to support operations on a temporary basis for approximately 3-6 months at a manufacturing and engineering facility in Cambridge. This is a hands-on role focused on enhancing existing health & safety systems, supporting compliance initiatives, reviewing procedures and practices, and helping drive continuous improvement across the business.

The successful contractor will work closely with operational departments and leadership teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure practical, effective safety management across the site.

  • Support compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and EHS standards
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Deliver practical safety guidance and toolbox talks where required
  • Assist with contractor management and safe systems of work
  • Work collaboratively with managers and employees to improve safety awareness and behaviours
  • Provide pragmatic support to improve overall site safety standards

Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.

Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.

Confident carrying out risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections.

NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) preferred.

Experience within fabrication, machinery, manufacturing, or industrial environments would be beneficial.
