Senior Civil Design Engineer - Contract Location: Hertfordshire Job Type: Contract Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Design Location: Hybrid Duration: 6 months (initial) Rate: £40-55 Per Hour / Outside of IR35 The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer for a contract opportunity with an established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy working on a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure and development projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Civil Design Engineer with a consultancy background to take a leading role in delivering infrastructure designs across residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in highways, drainage and civil infrastructure design, with the ability to manage projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver civil infrastructure design packages from concept through to detailed design and construction. Undertake highways, drainage, external works and associated infrastructure design. Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and technical reports. Produce and oversee designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vehicle Tracking and MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage. Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders. Provide technical guidance and oversee the work of junior engineers and technicians. Manage project deliverables, programmes and resources to ensure deadlines are achieved. Attend design coordination meetings and liaise directly with clients and external stakeholders. Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations and industry best practices. Support the delivery of technically challenging infrastructure projects. Essential Experience
