A growing engineering and manufacturing technology business is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join its expanding team. The company designs and delivers advanced automated equipment and process solutions used in high-performance manufacturing environments across a range of industries, including marine, aerospace, renewable energy and advanced composites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Create software solutions for machine control, monitoring, regulation and automation.
  • Produce technical specifications, electrical designs, schematics and supporting documentation.
  • Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through to commissioning and customer handover.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
  • Research and implement new technologies and engineering solutions to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, both remotely and on-site.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams to support project delivery and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and quality standards.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Control Systems, Automation or related engineering role.
  • Experience developing electrical and electronic control systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required.

Desirable

  • Experience with PLC programming.
  • Experience using Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Knowledge of automated machinery, manufacturing equipment or process control systems.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and installation activities.
